Our passion for early education and our belief in the potential of all children led us to create EarlyBird. After years in educational institutions, we shaped our passion into a mission to give parents the real tools they need to navigate the complicated early education landscape.

Who We Are

Ashley Talve Shenfeld

Ashley has an indomitable belief that all children can succeed when provided with meaningful exposure, high expectations, and tools to build self-confidence.

She earned her BA at University of Michigan, where she was awarded the Michigan Mentor Leadership Award for her exceptional mentorship among underserved families in the Detroit Metro area.

Ashley holds a Master’s in General/Special Education and a Master’s in Educational Leadership, Policy, and Advocacy from NYU. She was the Director of Early Learning at Preminente Counseling, a globally recognized educational consultancy.

Melissa Kempner Jones

Melissa is an experienced educator with a visible passion for educating children and helping them achieve goals that further their progress as students and humans.

She holds a Master’s in Early Childhood General & Special Education from Bank Street College of Education. She has spent years in the classroom, where she discovered her real passion for working 1:1 with students and families.

As a teacher in a prestigious Upper East Side preschool, she gained exposure to the complicated admissions processes of private schooling. She now brings her insider knowledge to the parents of prospective students to help them succeed and achieve their dreams for their child’s education.
